ParticipantJust a final update. I managed to apply some leverage between the mounting holes on the motor and the plastic (body) it was attached to. I was extra careful and nervous about breaking the plastic, but it’s actually pretty strong stuff, more liike a resin. I used a stubby wide bladed screwdriver with some old inner tube wrapped around the tip and just twisted in the gap. Took a while but got there in the end, then removed the multi connector plug and earth and changed the brushes. Now all working perfectly!

Thanks Paul, I could see the locating pegs and could work out what they were for. I’ll try again, this time I’ll try to get something to apply some leverage, got to be careful as there’s all manner of wires/plugs that I don’t want to damage.

ParticipantHi,
I have the same problem with the exact same model of washing machine. I took the top and back off (taking the top off allows more light in), took the belt off (top tip, rotate the drum as you take the belt off, much easier) and took the bolts that secure the motor. Problem is that the motor is still attached firmly and won’t come away even with the bolts removed.
I jiggled the bush (there must be 2, but could only see one with the motor in situ) and re-assembled everything and now the drum spins again. But I know it’s only a matter of time before it needs fixing properly.
Anyone know how to get the motor off?
Thanks. -
