Found the third thermostat.As you suggested it was monitoring the air duct.Meter showed it closed.As I now had the drum out I traced the wireing(not easy as it was all the same colour,pink!)produced a circuit diagram,pulling off terminals as I went to check continuity.When I had finished I found I had 30ohm across the supply.Plugged in and low and behold heater now working!There are 18 connectors in the heating cct so not too surprising one or two dodgy in time.So the moral is if heater fails and thermos and elements are OK check all the connections.Thanks for your help.

Had a further hunt around. The only wireing to the front of the machine is to the door switch(working OK).How can I get sight of the Wireing Diagram?
