    Dodgy headphone socket would be first port of call, then you’re into the power amp. Anybody local that does hi-fi/ pa/ whatever repair should be able to have a go for you.

    Plenty kits to be had for VERY little money nowadays. Doesn’t seem long since individual door motors cost the same as a whole kit now…

    I drive a Suzuki jeep, and the only branding on it is some vinyl lettering on the spare wheel cover. A number of people have remarked on how professional it looks.

    I carry a clamp meter for most stuff, but have an energy monitor jobbie that gets used in the workshop for soak tests. Lidl sold’em a while back, this one does all the above plus has a programmable cost function.
    Keep an eye out for them at Lidl or Aldi…
