Here’s the link to the £166 switch – are they serious?

    Re: Baumatic oven not working

Thanks. I’ve not taken it apart yet but will be in touch when I do and it is that part, as indicated by other info on the net.

This will no doubt be one of those ‘when are you going to fix the bloody oven’ scenarios. Meanwhile there is the small oven and the microwave.

Ok so I think it may be the selector switch for the main oven. I’ve just checked and Baumatic have this part in stock. Now are you sitting down – it’s £166! Simply incredible.

No not an engineer. Just been unlucky with appliances or in any case I think they often fail especially under the heavy family load we give them. Had a Bosch dishwasher that exploded. Now we only buy Miele or AEG.

Re the Baumatic – where do I find the thermal trip? It wasn’t on when it stopped working though. Is there a manual/diagram anywhere. I am handy with a multimeter.

    Thanks

However THERE ARE NO USER REPLACEABLE PARTS WITHIN A MICROWAVE REPAIR REQUIRES SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE.

Please do not attempt to open the case: MICROWAVES CAN KILL EVEN WHEN SWITCHED OFF. 😯

OK – think I get the message. The next question is: is this piece of kit worth sending for repair (assuming there are any repairers) or is it more cost effective to buy another.

Can’t see anything – but wife may well have binned it. Can you describe this bit and exactly where it fits?

    thx

I’ve just run it again with no soap tablet and the door opened…

The mechanism that opens the flap and injects the rinse aid is built into the dispenser itself. The mechanism itself is driven by an actuater valve which can fail but is generally very reliable.

Again it’s left the tablet in a soggy mass and not opened the door. I can’t see a seal – is this under the flap?

Is the best thing to do just put in a new dispenser unit and is this DIY?

    thanks

    Is the perimeter seal intact?
It may be perished allowing water in, making the tablet/powder into a soggy paste causing a suction like action on the flap 😕

    Greg

I’ll look – what is is the mechanism that opens the door? The door shuts and latches OK and springs open with the manual catch.
