My Smeg had exactly the same problem and found break in wiring at door hinge just like yours. Seems to be a common fault.

Had the same problem with my Smeg. Traced the fault to a broken wire where the loom goes from underside to the door. Every time you open and close the door the wires are flexed and eventually break. Although I’m not familiar with your machine, I suspect that all makes use a similar wiring layout. Well worth checking this out before buying expensive parts.
