ParticipantRe: Diplomat APM 6842 fridge too warm!
Could I change the thermostat myself? Can the thermostat be linked out so that the compressor will run all the time? I can then see if the fridge does get down to temperature, and that way I know that it is the thermostat that is faulty and nothing else. I will do a bit of checking about and if I do need one, I will be in touch.
Thanks

Do you know if these thermostats are expensive? I am just trying to decide whether it is worth me paying for the repair man to come back out again, and then pay again for any new parts. Would I just be better off biting the bullet and buying a new fridge freezer?
What do you think?eds

All I need is my fine adjustment tool (big hammer) and I can fix anything!
On the other hand, I may just go for a replacement fridge because by the time I add up what the engineer will charge me labour plus parts, plus the £52 he charged me last time for the gas, I do not think it will be that much different to buying a new replacement fridge freezer APM 6852 which is £399.Cheers

Thanks Dave.
Would either of these faults be easily repairable? i.e. cheap?
How much would a new fridge freezer cost, that is, if this model is still available? If not, are there newer fridge freezers which would fit in place of this old one? -
