    Thanks for the responses. Due to AEG/Electrolux’s swift response and willingness to help (not – it only took them 10 months), I went out and bought a multimeter, which I needed anyway, that had a temperature function on it. This gives me +- 1 degree Clsius accuracy up to 250 deg C and confirms your comment about the cycling. The mean temperature over 2 hours was around 15 degrees below the set temperature ie 135. when set at 150 Celsius.

    From a non technician – I also have a problem with the temperature of an oven that tellsme that it is one (high) temperature, when I have discovered (through a lot of underdone food) that it really is not that high.

    The hot air coming out above the oven may be the vent (it is on ours), but despite it seeming warm/hot, it may be that the oven itself is not reaching the temperature it is set at. I’d like to know if this is a regular/typical problem.
