I will check the wiring harness tonight. Am I just checking nothing is loose and broken? It does seem the valve switch is faulty given the readings so will order one.
Found a spare for the inlet valve on this site. It is only £5? Do you think the quality of it will not be good enough?

Took off the leads going to the input valve. Multimeter on each electrode and no reading at all? Guess that means its the switch? Is this usual to happen?

with power off to the machine what resistance should I get when putting the multi meter to the inlet valve?

Hi
definitely no leak anywhere. Base plate is completely dry. Pump does stop draining after 15-20 seconds. With pipe disconnected from machine water pours through it.
Filter on inlet valve is clean. All taps are switched on when mains is connected.
I have looked at the water input matrix but no water gets that far. It just seems like the water inlet valve will not open.Can I test it with a multi meter? If it tests out to be ok what send the signal to that valve that may be causing it not to open?

Hi Dan,
I have tried it with the dishwasher pulled out and the hoses are not kinked in anyway. I have tipped it up and looked in the bottom pan and the is no water.
It does the drain cycle when it starts but it only lasts a short time (nothing to drain). I know the drain phase does work as i poured water into the dishwasher then switched it on and it drained it all out.
It just seems like the switch that opens to let the water in is not opening. Cant work out why this would be though? It was fine before turning the mains power off.
