I have turned the rinse aid down one setting and it made a difference. The marks are not so bad and there is no streaking at all. I may even try the lowest setting. I didn’t do this before as I had been told that if you get spotting, increase the rinse aid, streaks – decrease it. However, I was getting both and thought that it was just that there was too little rinse aid.

I tried the machine with no detergent, just running on empty and that gave streaks on the door — they could only have come from the water and the softener is set correctly so there is only rinse aid to consider.

I appreciate everyone’s comments and help. Thanks to all of you who have read and commented on this. ( It beats watching TV these days anyway)

I agree that you should get clear spotless glasses and that is what I had with my previous dishwasher. However that was 4 years old before Bosch got fed up with repairing it! I think things have moved on a bit since then and in many ways these machines are very sensitive to small changes in the basic settings.
