To Aqualectric & Flyman, thank you for your assistance. A local firm in Bridgwater, Somerset, fixed the oven for a modest £108.65 all in.
The problem was that the Lamp-holder switch circuit (Part No: 3570384036) had blown a PCB Powercard (Part No: 3890662046), so whomever had suggested it might not have been the Program-set which was the culprit, was spot-on.
Thanks to all concerned anyway.

Mmm! Complicated isn’t it? On balance, you may be right! Perhaps I should elicit professional help on this one!!
Thank you very much for the assistance on this matter.

With the rear cover off and peering forward, past the black (presumably, exhaust) fan, there is one circuit-board on the right-hand side but no apparent similar board on the left. There is what I can only describe as a white, rectangular block, on the left-hand side. I did actually wonder myself, whether all communications went through the circuit board and whether this could be the culprit.
Regarding the Programme Set, it’s a three to five day delivery anyway and I won’t be able to order much before next Wednesday for a hopeful delivery next Friday or Saturday, so we do have a bit of time left for further exploration.
If the worst comes to the worst, I may have to take the oven to a specialist rather than me making things worse than they are now but I’ve seen Forums similar to this one before and I think to myself, ‘if other people can fix things with these expert’s help, why not me?’.

Thanks again for your speedy response!
You weren’t kidding about the costs … eSpares have quoted £150 inclusive for a ‘Programme Set’ but I’ll have to bite the bullet if the oven is to work again.
I may return in a week or so and follow-up this topic line again.
Thank you for your time.

Thanks for the fast response Steve.
It is now switched on and clock has been set manually in accord with the instruction booklet. The oven itself has been turned on to the first setting but neither the grill, fan, nor bulb, are working and there is still this persistant, regular clicking. The clock though, is keeping good time.
Looking from the rear (with the back-panel removed) at the black fan-unit, I see with each ‘click’, the fan blades move rearward a little. So the fan is revolving a whole revolution after time. Would it not do so if, as suggested, the clock relay had failed?
