Re: ISE W1607W – pump trap jammed

Just an update on this issue. After a second dose of Sainsbury’s de-scaler powder I was finally able to remove the trap. Limescale was causing the trap to stick in the pump housing. Thoroughly cleaned all the limescale out from the housing and the trap can now be inserted and removed without a problem. Bit of a narrow escape there. Serves me right for not checking it regularly enough and not using any de-scaler. Apparently a bit of white vinegar in the conditioner drawer and a tablespoon of soda crystals with the powder should keep things in order from now on.

Many thanks Bryan. I’ve tried pulling the cap fairly hard but only managed to pull the threaded top away from the body of the trap. Fortunately I was able to reattach it. Do you think it’s worth pouring lemon juice into the drain pipe to dissolve any build up of limescale or could that damage the pump and associated pipes?
