    Re: ISE 5 – problem.

    cheers jim.

not in soft water area, and i use powder.

just put the aforementioned load in, and its not the initial intake of water thats makin the noise. i select prog 4, press play, and then theres a kind of grindin/moanin (im useless at describing noise sounds!) noise fo 5/10 secs, then the (steady) intake of water begins. quiet as a mouse now tho.

are u experts aware that it should make some kind of noise when a programme is started?

    thanx again

    thanks for your replies…

jim – after what uve said, i would deffo suspect water pressure as a suspect for the leak. as soon as i set the programme going, the initial fill of water is really loud, however subsequent fills dont seem to be as loud :hmm: ive also occasionally heard that the machine takes on water even when the drum is rotating, but thats normal aint it?

how would i reduce the pressure of water supplying the machine? is it just a case of closing the valve a little that the inlet pipe attaches too?

    thanks for any help…

    Re: ISE 5 Washing machine

    hi julia,

took delivery of my ise 5 yesterday, first impressions are very good. you said u would like to reduce you energy usage by washing on a synthetics 30 wash rather than the cottons 40. from having a quick read of the instruction booklet, is it not possible to reduce the cottons 40 wash to 30 degrees, therefore reducing your energy usage but not compromising the result of your wash?

    kwatt (or anyone)….

done 2 wash cycles and on each occasion the machine has moved about an inch after each wash. spin set on 1200, machine sat on a tiled floor. is there anything i can do stop/reduce this? the only thing i thought could be causing it is when the delivery guy installed it, he put some washing up liquid on the feet to make it easier to slide into place. maybe this is why its sliding all over the place?? (not literally)

    cheers

Your machine is not displaying an error code and what you describe is not “logical”. It may be worth checking the heater for resistance (25-30 ohms is typical), if that checks out OK, the pcb has almost certainly failed. Not a cost effective repair in my opinion.

thanks for your response penguin, that might just be enough reason to seriously consider the ISE 5. got a local supplier, db electrics, 5 miles away, they got the ISE 2 in stock but need to order the ISE 5, any idea how long it would take?

    thanks again…

    Ariston Margherita 2000 A1124 Advantage

hi, hoping one of u helpful souls could help….

my problem started the other day when i read that vinegar was good for cleaning washing machines. so, i sloshed a bit of white vinegar in the powder draw and set the machine on a 90 degree hot wash ( programme 1). checked on it a while later and the dial hadnt moved at all and the machine was doing the same pattern. so i turned off the machine, checked filter, odd bit of limescale came out, but nothng drastic. tried startin the programme again, same problem.

turned machine on its side so i could access filter at bottom. theres 2 black pipes coming from the drum to the filter, and a grey waste pipe that empties into drain. unclipped all pipes, the thick black pipe was ok, but the thinner black pipe was absolutely clogged up thick with gunk. removed pipe, cleaned, reattached all pipes convinced that this would of solved the problem.

    wrong.

whichever programme i set it on, u can hear the machine filling, drum does a couple of turns, then fills a bit more. then the drum just keeps following the same pattern, one turn one way, pause, one turn the the way with the dial staying in the same place. when i advance the dial it will more often than not do the continual rotating clicking thing. however, i f i turn machine off for a few secs, turn it on on a spin programme it will do this no problem.

any ideas? i so thought after id unbocked that pipe it would be ok!

as far as error codes go…… if i leave the machine unplugged for a while then turn it on and keep button pressed in, theres 2 steady flashes, 3 quick flashes then unlimited steady flashes.

sorry 4 the long post, hoping someone can throw some light on the matter.

    cheers, fillo.
