Thanks for your help, it was one of the thin blue wires to the thermistor that had broken as it passes through the door where it pivots.

Yes the soap dispenser is opening and i have already replace the heater relay and checked the 12v DC supply to it which comes in for 5 seconds and then drops out on every programme. I think the back feed that is missing is from the main spray motor which has a fancy PCB built into it but I am not sure what it does. The main PCB is £35 and the motor is £85 so by the time I replace everything I am third of the way to buying a new one with a warranty.
