I have got to the bottom of this problem…. There is a thermal fuse in the heating element which has basically broken. You can get another fuse at maplin electronics website. You need Thermal fuse 152C part number RA17T
simply cut the old fuse off then crimp {NOT SOLDER}this fuse the same way as the old one… Problem solved. Fuses are about 70pence each heating elements are 45 quid….
