    Just a multimeter, but it isn’t open, and there’s no circuit betwen it and earth. I suppose there could be an earth fault when the heater warms up – is that common? The flood switch is fine too; no circuit in the usual state, zero resistance once tripped.

    Okay, tried the meter on the heater element, no problems there, appears to be sound.

    Any other ideas?

    The way I figure it, either something is telling the machine it is over full, so it pumps out, or, more likely, would I be right in thinking that any error message on the machine triggers it to pump out?
