so after concluding the motor was ok –
i popped the motor back on – put it all back together –
took the pump off again, opened it, cleaned it again, did it up good and tight,
gave it a test whirl and is currently draining from a 40degree cycle test.
everything seems to be dandy now.
the connector to the motor did give a little when i went to remove it so potentially the motor wasnt properly connected? possibly explains violent kick when it turned on yesterday because of arching or something?

no it doesnt get that far.
plug in – dial to a cycle – door locks – 1200rpm indicator lights up – dial clicks
then it stalls and the cold wash indicator flashes 5 times repeatedly.

they will fail continuity test as they are capacitors and the black is prob just dirt attracted by the 400 volt dc charge. the other component is a diode. since these components are part of the board power supply the board would be completely dead if they had failed
evening dave –
the board doesnt seem to be dead – the machine does operate to a point before it holds and the cold wash indicator blinks.
