    Hi Justin,
    This appears to be more than basic fault. Mr P has given you some good advice but Im beginning to think its time for and engineer and admit defeat. Most faults we can sort, some like yours are more intense and would really need us to be physically there to diagnose.
    In fairness aswell, If you have no facility to even cold test a valve then we reallyaren’t going to get far are we.

    Sounds to me like the thermal cut out has activated.
    I would imagine this quality of make would have a cooling fan incoporated.
    When its on, do you feel a wind blowing out of appliance above door top??
    If not , there is a chance that this has failed and causing appliance to overheat thus activating said protection stat.

    It could be relay, but rarely is.
    I would imagine due to age that the compressor has seized. If thats the case it would be beyond ecenomical repair.
