    Can’t hear the compressor running yet, but can hear the low humming sound. No error codes.

    The display is showing -18C & 4C (which is what we’ve set it at).

    about 30 secs after switching on, the compressor came on for a few seconds then switched back off, no clicking sound. There is no sound at all now, not even the low humming sound I mentioned in my OP.

    Thanks for your reply. Took the side and back panels off. As the back came off about 300ml of water spilled out onto the floor. Used a hairdryer to dry out the elements and anything else that was wet.

    It appears to be working now. Fingers crossed.

    Anyway I’ve learnt from the stupidity that caused this problem.
