ParticipantMorning Tony, quick one once the sensor is replied and the appliance is switched back on do I need to do a reset or anything or no?

ParticipantTony R wrote:Make sure you read the instructions and ensure the quick on connector is left outside the freezer, normally behind the black condenser radiator.
Thanks Tony will do, the fridge has been behaving itself and hasn’t beeped for a few days. However it started beeping this afternoon!

ParticipantMorning Tony. Miele has sent out the sensor again with the conversion kit this time!

ParticipantAh thank you Tony for confirming this is the correct sensor! I did ask the guy at Miele if this had the conversion kit and he did say yes but never mind.
Do you think I should purchase a insulated box and crimps or just take this to the PCB?good1231
ParticipantTony R wrote:Nope, I spent ages explaining where it is located and how to replace it in an earlier post, I wonder why I bother doing this for free anymore.
Sorry Tony! I’m dyslexic so it takes me a while to understand. Not an excuse and I appreciate your replies honestly.
I think I have understood this properly now, the part has arrived from Miele but it’s labelled as a ‘temp sensor’ and with no jointing kit. I have attached the URL of the image as it was too large to upload. Is this the correct one?

ParticipantTony R wrote:No its a 9590214 you require, you need the correct part as the resistance is set for the PCB to recognize the temperature correctly, don’t go cheap, buy the right one or your unit will not run correctly.
Thanks Tony, I rang Miele yesterday and managed to get one through them for £40. should be arriving soon. I did give the model number hopefully they send the right one!

ParticipantTony R wrote:Yes,
it probably comes as a kit, locate and pull out old sensor from bottom of the coil, cut off a length of the old sensor and using a length of the new sensor ( cut to size about 6 inches longer than the length you cut the old one, join back up with the kit. before you do any cutting check the joining kit as they did two versions, one with an insulated box and 2 crimps and a screw together version, the screwed together version needs to be located outside the fridge/freezer behind the black condenser plate, the insulated/ crimp version can be left inside the freezer neatly located with the other cables.
You will have to remove the housing around the coil to get the sensor out, unscrew and remove the small square thermal fuse in the polystyrene, gently lift up the evaporator coil and rest it by inserting one of the glass shelfs so you can now see the back of the coil assembly, cut the tape on both sides and you will find a couple of pressed in metal lugs, gently ease these out and the cover will come off exposing the coil for sensor removal, reassemble in reverse. TAKE CARE when lifting or moving the coil as it is connected to delicate aluminum pipes.Morning Tony! so its just a matter of replacing the old with the new but leaving more wire etc? can you please send me a link for the replacement part-just want to make sure I get the correct one? Thank you!

ParticipantTony R wrote:Hi, I cannot find an index 25D-165, but two versions of a KF7542SN are listed on index’s 25A-165 and 26C-165, both have the same freezer evaporator sensor part number 9590214 a replacement for the original 6942092 sensor, priced at around £50.00 plus VAT and any carriage.
Thanks Tony, is it easy to replace? Dave did suggest to replace as opposed to buying a new fridge freezer what do you think?

ParticipantTony R wrote:Yes Freezer evaporator sensor, but I will need your index number, found just after the model number to identify parts used on that years production.
Hi Tony, thanks for the reply! I think the Index number is 75/58552648 or 25D 165

Agreed thanks Dave!

Participantelectrofix wrote:oh i know that but it tells you its a sensor problem and the reason its still functioning is because its designed well enough to have an emergancy plan when thing go wrong
I dont know which sensor because i have no access to tech
hopefully one of the fridge boys may know which oneDave
aha thanks Dave appreciate it! I think it is the evaporator sensor – will wait for someone else to confirm. Is it worth replacing, ignore or replace the fridge freezer?
