Participantkwatt wrote:Given Miele’s stance on spare parts and support (explained here), you’ve got pretty much zero hope of any spares for it from anyone other than Miele, at Miele prices, which will often bring tears to a glass eye as it were. Which 99/100 makes repairing older machines completely uneconomic to even consider.
And if you need to get Miele in to repair it, well, let’s just say that most people will feel that sorely.
It’s a huge shame that it is that way and I don’t agree with Miele’s philosophy but, it is what it is.

Hey. Thanks for the reply. The spare part from Miele was available at £60! Given the age etc I decided to replace in the end.
thanks!

Thanks Tony 🙂

ParticipantTony R wrote:Hi,
Erratic problems are tricky enough even when we are there as an Engineer looking at it, if your issue is mainly the fan in the freezer at times not operating.
You have to confirm the unit has not just performed a defrost cycle and or that the unit has only just recently started to freeze down from its off cycle period.
The fan starts when the evaporator sensor has reached the correct temperature and the door is closed with the compressor running.
It is possible you can have issues with a weak compressor or a shortage of gas the later unlikely or an erratic sensor.
An Engineer would be required to confirm gas or weak compressor problems, but you could try changing the sensor which I believe is part number 4501970 from Miele.
Tony.Tony thanks for the reply! someone told me to do a full defrost of the fridge freezer for 3 days with both fridge freezer doors open – is this worth doing?
also I believe the sensor has a 3 week wait time, given the age etc what is your opinion on this?good1231
ParticipantTony R wrote:Sensor 9590214 has a lower resistance than newer versions used now, I am not sure why you still get F4, The resistance in KOhm at +20c is 2.4 at 0c 5.7 and -18 its 13.5 for the one you require, new sensors are much higher, +20c is 5.9 and at 0c its15.3 and -15c its 34.1.
This could confuse the PCB if the sensor is not compatable despite being sold as an evaporator sensor, which is why it is important to purchase the correct part and why I advised buying the 9590214 in the first instance. Thanks Tony. I have replaced the sensor with the old sensor and the fridge seems to be working again (touch wood) if the problem persist I will by the part number you mentioned.
However we have a new issue which is that the freezer door does not seem to stick and I am currently keeping this held with some weights. The temperature is all okay but the issue is now the door. Any ideas what it could be?
The door seems to be closing now, I moved some items around from the top shelf.
thanks 🙂

ParticipantTony R wrote:Are you definitely working on the right sensor ? there are as mentioned earlier TWO in the freezer, the one clipped to the rear panel is the air, the one that gives F4 is poked into the bottom of the finned coil behind that panel, only other issue is a faulty or incorrect sensor.
Tony any other further help please? I don’t think it’s my connections I disconnected the wires and the fridge beeped displaying the f4 warning once I reconnected the cables the f4 disappeared.
The sensor must be faulty or incorrect. I think I will purchase part number 9590214 like you mentioned previously or Could it be anything else? Sorry I honestly am not this annoying

Participant100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} the bottom one in the coil 🙁
https://ibb.co/0ytJ1GZ this was the packaging. 🙁
i did get Miele to double check and they did say this was the right part for the f4 faultnot sure If this means anything but I just had a look at the new cable and the old. The wires of the old and new do match not sure if that means anything. Top one is the new cable and bottom is the one that I removed. I noticed the last four digits differ I assume this was the manufacturer date.

ParticipantBad news… after using a connector it’s been good for a few hours but the beeping has started again :(. Any idea what it could be now please?

ParticipantTony R wrote:Connector block will be fine, make sure the connections are good, if it cancels the F4 alarm it will eliminate a fitting error.
Thanks Tony, hopefully it does the noise is driving me insane! i hear clicking in the fridge etc will try and let you know fingers crossed.

ParticipantTony R wrote:Sounds like your connections are not making a good contact, your picture looks like you are connecting it right providing each wire matches the same numbered slot, ie brown wires in 1, blue wires in 2 etc, if as it seems a connection issue is present, try connecting the brown (red) wires together and wrap in insulating tape and repeat with blue wires, I mention red wire as some older units have red and blue and newer ones use brown and blue, it will not be a problem leaving it taped up as it will be behind and outside the cabinet, I also see in the picture that another sensor has been fitted using a quick connection.
Thanks for the reply Tony I appreciate it , will try what you said. will it be okay using a connector block?
Sorry the other quick connection was the other half of this!good1231
ParticipantMorning. I just got Woken up by the fridge displaying F4 can anyone help please? 🙁
this time it’s persistent previously the beeping would stop once muted however now it’s f4 and displaying the temp constantly beeping. Driving me insane

ParticipantHi all so i redone what I had done previously and did not leave any wires exposed, the fridge is on now. the freezer temp is blinking hopefully it should start hitting the temp soon. I have stuck it on super to speed it up
update: the freezer temperature is now displaying -18 I think the issue has been fixed and f4 is no longer displayed. Thank you guys

ParticipantHi guys. Quick one is this the correct way to do this?
