    Re: hotpoint fridge??

    Dave,

Which model do you suggest :- 2600283 or 2601683 – Whats the difference ?

The thermistor I found s/c was behind the freezer panel and below the fan.

    Thanks.

    Gary.

    Re: Hotpoint FF78 Fridge-freezer???

    Hi,

Been reading this thread with some interest as my Hotpoint FF78 fridge-freezer has also gone down with the same fault as mentioned, i.e. the freezer is OK but the fridge compartment is warm.

I have been following the instructions Dave has handed out and yes, the radiator behind the freezer back panel is all frozen up.

I see there are what looks like three thermistors. I (with fridge isolated from mains) measured the resistance across the three thermistors and found the centre one short circuit. I disconnected this and left the fridge running. Now after two days the fridge is working OK and the radiator is frost-free. The red LED is flashing away, I expect this is because of the open circuit on the thermistors ???.

Note I have dropped the baffle unit away and it is disconnected as I originally thought the problem lay somewhere there and have not got around to putting it back as yet.

Do you think by replace the short circuit thermistors there is a good chance my problem will be resolved ???

If so where can I order one ???

Many thanks for any advice you can offer.

(I am a new user hope this is directed to the right advice team)

    Gary. .
