There’s about 20′ of pipe between the HWC and the washing machine hot fill hose. However our kitchen hot water tap is about 18′ along the same pipe (ie just 2′ before the washing machine) and it is always our habit to run the tap until the water is hot (to do dishes) before turning it off, then switching on the washing machine. So there’s only the volume of a 2′ length of 15mm pipe before the gate valve and hot fill hose which is where I’m checking the temperature by touch.

Will resolve with dealer/installer shortly and advise….
