ParticipantRe: Replacement Slimline Dishwasher – Recomendations?
Just so that you can get an indication of my kitchen space, i have the following layout
Door – Built in Fridge/Freezer- 450 wide unit (Corner of room) 450 wide unit – Built in cooker – Built in slimline dishwasher (Corner of room) Double sink unit- Built in Washing machine – Door
The 4th wall has a long radiator on it with a small table and 2 chairs,
So, without completely redesigning the kitchen and moving lots of units at great cost any advice as to how I can fit a full size unit in?, by the way the built in cooker has a hob also built in with a stainless steel extractor above which exhaust through the wall..
Oh and a further note, I have designed several kitchens for people in the past and did by far a better job than the builders did here (as I’m a fully qualified draughtsman with an HNC) bully for me!
Regards

Thanks for the reply Martin,
I purposely made certain comments in my post in capitals as I realised someone would not give me constructive advice? Ho hum… 😥
For the record, We inherited the kitchen design from the builder, we had no say in the matter, the dishwasher is sandwiched between the cooker and the sink unit. There is AND I REPEAT no way we can alter the layout we are stuck with what we have, I do admit I have had full size ones before and yes they are by far the best, but, I can’t do anything about what I have, unless of course you are prepared to chip in to help financially and COMPLETELY redesign my kitchen? and I am serious, there is no room, I can send you a plan if you like?
As for being able to fit in the 3 course sunday lunch, yes I agree, you can’t fit it in, thats why we have 2 runs at it, trust me its still easier sipping a nice cold glass of after dinner Chardonnay than doing 2 loads of dishes!!
Now for some constructive comments, (and hopefully the end of a flame war)
David,
Thx for the reply we are also a family of 3 and after checking the dimensions with my local branch of Currys and checking the installation instructions in the back of the manual for the Zanussi I really think I can remove the old one myself and refit a new stand alone one by trimming the bottom kick plate.
Currys have all their Bosch dishwashers on offer at the moment with free delivery, (if you order through the store they will match the Currys internet price) so I may go down that route, they also have 2 years warranty as standard so now need for an extra warranty.
