Participantelectrofix wrote:well just read owners manual (always best place to start )
if the water light comes on its a fill problem
if the water light flashes its a technical problem and not necessarily a water problem and more like a general fault code. does the light have any pattern to it ? like 5 flash stop 5 flash etc
any other light lit at the time ?what we are looking for is some sort of fault code we could go looking for. Neff info is not easy as they restrict it

Hi Dave
Thanks for the reply. Oh I looked at the manual but didnt spot that.
Theres no pattern to the flashing light, it just continuously flashes. Initially the lower light was also on for the rinse aid but this has since cleared. Probably a bi product of the hard fault in any case.
I’m out the rest of today but will get back to you tomorow. I appreciate the help.
Cheers Steve

Participantelectrofix wrote:so I assume the part you replaces was the inlet hose with the valve on the end
the red light comes on because no water is flowing in so we have to figure out why
first are you sure the tap is on. get a lot of these taps that move but don’t operate so if your not sure remove hose from tap and blow some water out of it to make sure
what happens now when you start a programme ?
the pump should run for a bit , then stop, I then expect it to fillyou could measure the voltage being fed to the fill valve to see if the board energises it. its a 240V mains valve

Hi Dave
yes I replaced the inlet hose with the water sensor attached to it. I was hopefull this was the issue but it had no effect.
The water supply tap itself Is fine it has ample pressure and the flow is there as well
I cant select any program functions whatsoever. The flashing tap light is hard fault and prohibits any program selection so I have no operability.
Happy to diagnose electrically if you can help me out.I have a fluke but am a novice to using it.
Cheers Steve

ParticipantThe machine does absolutely nothing no water fill no pimp noises theres no function. Just the red tap light just flashes constantly. My 1st post describes the issue in more detail, and also what I’ve changed as I’ve gone along. If I change the board is it a straight swop out no soldering required

ParticipantI checked the visible wiring all looked fine. Mice are a long shot theres no evidence of mice droppings anywhere on the floor or integral to the machine

Participantiadom wrote:In the pub atm so not sure if this will get through. A very common fault with exactly those symptoms.
So I replaced the Reed switch flow sensor after it arrived yesterday. Switched the machine on and no change. I still get the flashing tap light and no machine functions.
I did notice internally on the metering tank that a section is discoloured and has a loose piece possibly a seal on the side. Can you identify what this is and what its purpose is? Its integral to the sealed tank so I couldnt gain access. I’ve tried uploading a pic but it doesnt allow me to due to file size. If you look at the metering tank in my link i posted in the pic it’s the black square unit at the top 12 o clock position. This and the surrounding plastic is now pink on my metering unit
I’m lost here. And cant keep replacing items that dont rectify the fault

Thankyou I’ve ordered one last night following your suggestion. I hope it works. I presume it’s located on the LHS of the machine with the fill chamber? Any tips on replacement?
Merry Xmas and appreciate the advice

ParticipantOk thanks appreciate the help. I’ll do a bit more searching and see what I find compatible for my model. Just to clarify this would give the same issues I’ve encountered in my original post?

ParticipantHi thanks for the reply
would this cause the symptoms explained in my original post of having no functionality and the flashing tap light?I’ve searched on e spares but cant see anything matching your description. There is a reed float switch that is it
HAD A-NEFF NOW
Participantor do you have a pic of the float to confirm please

ParticipantHi after changing the drain pump I checked the base and it was clear of water, the polysterene float was flat and a square sensor above it that was moveable seemed to have play in both up and down so i would guess its n teh down positions. wrg to a float I take it this is what you mean
