Thanks Martin, shame to hear Bosch have gone downhill of late !

Looking at the following models – either standout as the one to go for ? Not had a Smeg before ?

    Smeg DC136LW
    Bosch Avantixx SGS45A02GB
    Bosch SMS40C12GB
    AEG F45010W0

    Thanks for any advice

    Thanks Guys,

I have had the main control unit repaired so I am not averse to to doing a diy repair/swap out of a part but I take your point that, with the age of the unit itself, it is time for a new dishwasher.

Next question is – which mid range Bosch dishwasher should I be looking at ? From a reliability and ease of changing parts down the line point of view ?

We need a timer delay on it as we have economy 7 electric so want to set it at say 11pm but to start in 3-4 hours time.

Received the repaired module back from QER and installed it.

Now done 2 washes and the dishwasher has worked perfectly. Lets hope this is a permament fix.

Thanks Tim, I will ask QER what may have caused the module to blow.

    Thanks for the advice.

    Ok,

so sides off and looking at the left hand side all the chambers look clear so no sludge or anything present. Hopefully this image works:

On the right hand side bottom, I think I have correctly identified the heater and have checked the resistance across the two points identified with red circles (I disconnected 1 connector first). Hopefully this image works:

If I have measured across the correct terminals (someone please confirm) the resistance is 24ohms so I think this indicates the heater is fine ?

Am I right in thinking it must be the control module then ?

Re: Bosch SGS5362GB/01 not heating water

Removed bottom front panel to check lower hose for blocking just incase. hose looks to be clear and water levels appear fine when opening mid-cycle. Just wanted to rule this out as seen some other posts suggesting low water levels, blocked hose could cause dishwasher not to heat water.

Any pointers on checking whether the control module or the water heater is the problem ?
