Re: MODERATORS;APM 6855 “pig in the poke” ??????

Thanks Kwatt from your reply and that of others I have just noticed that there is no ventilation at the base of F/F unit(kick base) 😳 😳 ,suprise suprise wonderful joiner who fitted kitchen didn’t think to put one in place, looked up in loft from bits and pieces he left and there is exactly ventilation part you are talking about.1st job I do tomorrow.
Have checked the doors as best I could and am confident that they were closing over completely, although I remember a few choice words when they were working on that area of the kitchen 😯 😯 .
All in all F/F has been off for 24 hrs 24 to go will leave it out of unit for a week or so after I switch it back on and see how things go.
Once again thanks to all for taking the time to respond,it is much appreciated 🙂 🙂 🙂

    Hi Squalshy

I did same as you a few weeks back and thought it was also solved, however old problem back, hence switched off and have taken f/f out of unit, there was signs of water on base of kitchen floor at rear of unit, not enought to make me panic, however there is still some in plastic dish at bottom of f/f and it is this I am trying to remove. Will leave f/f off for the 48 hours as advised however from what I have read it would appear this again may only be a short term fix and an engineer will be needed.

Am I overeacting or is this a poor quality product seems to be a well posted fault 😕 😕

    Cheers

If you post the model of the fridge id be happy to help with the solution.

It could be a fault on the defrost side, letting to much ice build up and stopping the cold air being circulated properly.

    Thanks.
Hi stoneco8 mines is exactly same model and has just done exactly what you said would happen, have switched it off again and will put back on after 48 hrs,do you think I should try something else or is it engineer time .Much obliged for any help /info you can offer.

I too have the same problem with the APM 6855, fridge is warm but freezer OK. First happened after 18 months round about Xmas 06, turning off appliance for 48 hours did the job but it seems to be a recurring problem – it happened again 3 months later, the 2 months later and then again – if I carry on at this rate will be de-frosting it every month! – Also the freezer dept gets really iced up badly.

    Must be something wrong?
Same here ron1050 switching off unit as we speak will leave for 48 hrs,did the same appx 6- 8 weeks ago and looked to be ok ,but same symptom freezer ok fridge temp displaying h,do you think i need an engineer if happens again any help /advice most welcome
