    Hi Don,
Thank you for your help. I downloaded the Operator manual and learned a few handy hints from this. Great.

I was hoping that I could get a copy of the Service manual for the Whirlpool AWE 6515 Washing Machine. Have you any idea where I might be able to get a copy of the Service Manual Don?
    Thank you
    Kind Regards
    David

    Thank you Martin,

All done now, we are delighted to see the machine running sweetly again. When the drum “dropped” it almost damaged the pcb …………………so I guess we were lucky really.

    Thanks again

    Hi Martin,

Thank you for your e-mail and your helpful assistance.
My spare parts have been received and fitted in place, it only remains to connect the hook to the tank bracket.
My big son and I have the long wooden lever and high tensile cord in place
BUT I have one last question……….
Is it necessary to disconnect one or both of the shock absorbers (part # 11 8869) in order that we may lift the drum high enough to get the bracket hole and the spring into alingment?

    Sorry to trouble you again.

Looking forward to hearing from you again soon

    Thank you

    David

    Hello Martin,

    Thank you for your message.
I have today ordered the new spring and guide as you suggest.
Have you any tips on the best way to tension the spring and attach its round hook to the tank side bracket.

I would be very grateful for any suggestions. (You see I have never had to fit suspension springs to a washing machine before).

    Thank you
    David
