Re: Bosch WAE2416SUK smells of urine

Just an update to let you know i am still alive. After doing it the old fashioned way, one socket at a time, finally found the problem. The earth in the other socket had broken off meaning my kithcen sockets where not earthed, to much crammed in one socket, now been removed and have new wiring put in to kitchen sockets, now all safe

Again many thanks for all your help and a merry xmas to all 😀

    oh but it was 😯

Just spoke to brother, who is not a sparky but very knowledgeable, well more than me. Anyway he is coming down after work to have a look and hopefully replace both for me and check other sockets 😳

yes you did martin, i was fairly sure it was not a build up as the smell was so obviously not from something like that, will know more when i remove the socket hopefully, brother coming down tonight as feel a little apprehensive about touching the thing on my own, best blow him up rather than me lol

Can’t thank you all enough for all the help and support i have been given and probably the few hundred quid it has saved me, great board with some great members too

Re: Bosch WAE2416SUK smells of urine

Now stressed to the hilt, and near to tears, single mums eh, what has caused this? got to pull the other two appliances out yet that are on the same line or whatever it is called. Above the worktop is a socket type thing with a fuse in (no space for plugs, just a blank thing with a fuse in, from this is the fridge, then washer, then drier, is there to much on it? Grrrrrr

I have changed wall sockets and light switches before but that is about as far as i can go, but am concerned to what has caused this?

Re: Bosch WAE2416SUK smells of urine

thanks saabbafan, b ut this is why i did not think it was from build up as the washing does not smell at all, infact even immediately after opening door there is no smell whatsoever, only smell it whilst on and never after

iadom, will they look burnt out or something, will it be obvious there is something wrong, don’t want to be pulling it out till i definately know what i am looking for and how it should look, as i have never seen it before i need to know what it should be like, i am referring to the heating terminals not the plug or socket lol

Re: Bosch WAE2416SUK smells of urine

Thank you kwatt. I do use ariel gel and will now purchase the powder and do a couple of boil washes with that and see if that helps, will also see if i can find some affresh, i have never heard of it or seen it so hold little hope of finding it but will certainly look, i have used gel for years with previous machine and never smelt anything like this and my last machine was years old. Thank you for the advice and link
