Re: Fitting belt on Zanussi Dryer
Hi. Two days ago I tried to fit a new belt on our Zanussi TD501TC. Your comments were very helpful, but I missed a few things.
It’s enough to take off the screws at the outside of the rear panel. Do not forget the two for the top-cover. Slide the cover backwards and off. Then pull the whole rear a few inches out and put the new belt in place from the front of the drum. Replace the rear (plus screws) except the plastic part down at the right. Let someone help you by keeping the belt in position at the top of the drum. Force the tension pulley as far clockwise as possible (twelve o’clock) and place the belt left/below the pulley on the motor shaft. You need some force for this too. Once you succeeded you can turn the drum by hand to see if the belt stays in its place. Power on, trial run, replace other parts and take a beer! 😀
