I had thought of that but just wondered whether it served some other higher purpose that I wasn’t aware of. I’m not sure my coolbags that big! I might swap it for my smaller ones.

Ah…..I guess anything could have happened to it before it arrived here. Will leave for 8 hours like a good girl and do as I’m told…though I’m itching to turn it on so I can get out there and buy some goodies!

Thanks for your help. A new Whirlpool freezer delivered this morning from Currys, and old one taken away. Glad to see the back of it! New one looks good. Will write a review when I have it up and running.

One question…. The delivery man said I had to wait 8 hours before switching on. The manual says 2 hours. Which is correct? I believe it has something to do with settling and equalisation of the refrigerant. Is that correct? 8 hours does seem a long time.
