ParticipantRe: Neff oven issues after bulb exploded!
Had a nearly identical problem with a Neff U1661 oven. Wife switched the fan oven on; bulb exploded tripping breaker but when reset no light or fan although the fan element glows red hot!
Oven is couple years old but just out of guarantee so seeing as a new control box is about £180 + fitting took it apart and discovered a burnt out track on the circuit board in the control box. It was reasonably obvious the one that had burnt so soldered a jumper cable on and all ok again. Not a simple repair so don’t attempt unless confident or can rope someone in who is. Most difficult part was getting the control box out and removing the ribbon cable to the clock, I ended up undoing the front glass plate.
I’ve seen someone else with a similar Neff fault elsewhere on the web, I think it’s a design fault where the oven bulbs really need a separate fuse or re-settable breaker as they are only protected by the high amp cooker supply breaker/fuse, but suppose it’s down to cost etc.
The worrying part is how hot the fan element gets when the fan isn’t working and could be a source of more damage & danger – all from a simple blown bulb! 💡horsforth1
ParticipantRe: Dyson DC04 – switch removal
Thanks for the info. Just done a DC04 following these instructions, only thing I’d add is the screw holding the switch and cable strain assembly is a star type head so you may need screwdriver/bit to fit. This Dyson is from our scout hut so gets lots of hammer but seems to just go on and on. Would agree with the comments about Dyson hoses being naff & expensive, I’ve DC05 at home which has needed several, thought someone would have brought out a more robust replacement?
