But I’ve actually fixed it!
It came to my attention that the bulb was very hot. So I thought I’d see if it was actually turning off by flicking my mobile into movie mode, sticking it next to the butter and closing the door.
Lo and behold it didn’t get dark. It seemed the the door switch was faulty and needed to be pushed in a lot further that the small catch on the door could make.
So I turned everything off, got to the part that triggered the light on and off, re-seated everything correctly and put everything back in place.
Turned on the power and voila. Compressor kicks in.
I have no idea why this would be related though. Still, ignorance is bliss.
