It disintegrated in my hand. I tried bypassing it but same problem persists. Maybe the temperature dial is faulty? The only things left are the temp dial and the selector dial. The selector dial seems to work ok by looking at the left led. Might just have to get a new oven because I’ve tried everything now. Sigh. Thanks for all of the help dave

Have done all of that and still the exact same problem. I have noticed that the Zn limiter is very very burnt and one wire has disconnected. Is there a way to bypass it to see if that is the problem? I have two blue and two white wires going into the Zn limiter. The whites have come disconnected

Thankyou

Found it. How would I know if it has been tripped?

So the problem can only be the switching control or the overheat stat. Where might I locate the overheat stat button?

This thing is burnt: http://i.imgur.com/dQTwmLi.jpg
The selector switch looks ok from the outside but maybe it could be faulty as you said.
Here’s an image of the selector switch:

It is this thing: https://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/8996619 … an-control
I’m not getting the same problem as that page says I would if it was gone but it is definitely burnt looking on the rubbery part.

Did that and the issue still persists. I have now noticed however a small blue rubbery thing with wires that looks like it is very burnt. Could that be my problem?

So join all three wires on the left. Many thanks!

Here is a picture of the wiring on the back of the clock. The yellow and orange wires closest to the front are connected to the same pin the same way the purple and white are joined at the back. There are 4 pins in total.
If I could just get rid of the clock and bypass it……
The clock is a “Diehl easytime 3”.

Thankyou for the information.
Is there a way to bypass the clock to test if it is that? Is that possible/safe to do? I do not need a timer I just need the oven to work when switched on

ParticipantRe: AEG oven not working correctly.
Just noticed that although the little red light on the left does light when a selection is made it now sometimes is dim and flickering. It is dim maybe 1 in 3 times

ParticipantRe: AEG oven not working correctly.
Ok thankyou for the help. I wonder if that is something I could fix myself? I’d rather not buy a new oven
