Re: GC2224GEKB Fridge not working / Leaking

Thanks, I’ll test the heater later on today!

Would this also explain the leak? I’ve tried pouring water down the hole at the back of the freezer but it still pours out of the bottom of the fridge/freezer and on to the floor.

That’s a handy co-incidence that you cover this area, you may well be getting a call from me in the next few days :).

Thanks for the reply Alf! I’m based in South Manchester.

I’ve got a multi-meter so can go ahead and check the heater element… if I can identify it. Is it somewhere on the photo that I took? Do you know the approx resistance value I should be looking for?

Thanks for the reply :). Is this something easy enough to fix myself? If not, how much do you think it would be for an engineer to fix (just a rough guess!).

    Hi Martin,

Thanks for the help. I feel pretty stupid now that I’ve looked at under the sink some more… you’re 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} right. In our previous rented places, we’ve always had a stand pipe for washing machine waste water – so didn’t expect it to be coupled up to the sink like that.

    I’ve learnt something new ;).

Out of interest, what do you think of the choice of washing machine and dryer – are they decent choices? Miele seems to be rated well around here, so I’m aiming to go for a pair of those and hope they last a decent while.

I guess the ventilation space isn’t too much of an issue?
