Re: Worriedabout ny new dishwasher Borsch SRS55L22GB

Thank you NATIONALHOMECARE for all the information, helps to understand how the chemicals work with each other. I have been following brochure from the start as to what to put in Filled up with salt and was using block and rinse aid and then powder and rinse aid, and I have been using all Finish products, but the extra information you have given is very usefull in knowing how those products interact once you close the door of the dishwasher I must apologise that you had been looking at wrong Bosch dishwasher number I had put the correct one in at the start of my post SRS55L22GB then further down I call it the SRS66L22GB slip of the fingers my bad typing along with calling a Bosch a Borsch (Thank you IADOM). Think I will have to get a bigger screen or find my glasses, don’t know much about computers either I am typing in very small print here, must do something about it. So sorry to confuse as to size of machine not fitting the model number. Anyway thank you for reassurance about parts being available etc. If I want to get rid of the strange powdery scum down the right hand side inner ledge that fit into machine I suppose I would have to have a new rubber seal to stop this happening I don’t like the fact that it runs onto the door hinge and where it might go from there into the door itself I don’t know as there is a gap there. The man at Bosch said it was Ok he is like it all around the edges, the and the seals dont keep everything out he said it happens when there is a build up of grease but iI pointed out this was a new machine I dont eat greasy food there certainly would not be a build up as I clean it away each time though it gets a bore as it is thick and difficult to wipe of there unlike the rest of the door but not getting much staining there at all, just don’t understand why the rinse water does not wash it away because it is in an awkward place I suppose where it closes in to the machine, just wish the wash block and powder did not reach there to, if I get puddles on the floor I suppose that will be the time to worry. Never mind I will persevere with all the good tips I am getting thank you to GREGSY and TRILOBITE for their information to. I will persevere. Many Thanks All

Re: Worriedabout ny new dishwasher Borsch SRS55L22GB

Thank you Iadom, much appreciate your thoughts on my problem with new Dishwasher, Took a torch and magnifying glass to look at this information indented into the the top of door again to find the FD no. I took me an awful long time first to find it for Borsch, got lucky when I felt the indentation under my fingers tips as I was pulling of white advertising label thought it might be unerneath, It was just at the side of this label this is just a tip for any other Borsch diswasher owners searching for these numbers easy to miss if the light is not shining on it the right way.
Mine reads EN-Nr at the top no other number with it, below that is SRS55L22GB/01 below that FD 8704 further on on the that same line is 000076 these numbers are all inside a square there are others outside with the wattage, hope this identifies the dishwasher.
Also I would also like to say I wish I had of known about UK Whitegoods for advice before I had shopped for my dishwasher, as is the way, you only find out to late. I quite take your point about using if you have one a local independent retailer, you are getting to speak to someone face to face to get advice and to hopefully sorting out any problems instead of wasting time hanging on to the telephone to the manufacturer hoping your might get to speak to someone that day, and if not who do you contact next if the seller has already passed you on to the manufactuer and you are finding it impossible to get to speak to someone there. The trouble is you are dependent on the manufactures quarantee the at this stage if you can not afford paying extra for the retailers insurance. If the dishwasher does not work at all of course you can safely use the Sale of Goods to get the company that sold it you to take it back, well I hope you could, though I begin to wonder if it is that simple now, In my case I was trying to understand what you should expect from a new machine following brochure instructions I was expecting an AAA rated machine to dry my cups and mugs having stacked them on a slope as shown in brochure using salt, blocks and rinse aid and then trying powder and rinse aid instead of blocks all in the right places SILLY ME not to know cups etc dont dry and seals do not seal everything these days. Borsch man made me feel I was expecting to much from this poor little machine, well it wasnt that cheap a friend who had just bought simlar Borsch Slimline different number and cheaper model said his one dried cups and got no mystery streaks of powder round the inside corners of the doors, where you assume the seal should be keeping them out. The man at Borsch had said these seals do not keep everything out,he said his is the same all around not just one side it can happen he says where where grease builds up,. I pointed out this was a new machine had been like it from the beginning and little or no grease had had the chance to build up, it would have been wiped away anyway, dread to think how he cares for his dishwasher come to think of it does not really sound like much of an advertisement for Borsch dishwashers.
Well a friend is very happy with the one he had bought two weeks before mine that was why I decided to get a Borsch, he has seen the results I get so its not just me being female and picky and feels sure mine cant be right, but then sounds as though he was lucky with his if it dries mugs perhaps I have the wrong sort of mugs. At the time I got this one he said he had wished he had paid a bit more to get this one but had not seen this model at that time he offered to swop wish I had taken up the offer because he wont swop it now. Sorry I have not got back before now as it takes me a long time to type out my thoughts and I am new to using forums. The website i bought it from by the way trades for the Comet Group said they had good customer servive etc. didnt think there would be any problems SILLY ME!
