I went into the shop where we buy all our white goods from over the years, nice folk, reliable, wont rip you off, and wanted a 7kg washing machine as the Zanussi had just died, it was few days before Christmas and hadnt done the washing, space to fit it into under shelf and between wall and cupboard denied some on offer, chose the 7kg Bosch having been told it would suit having described my typical load, the one they had wasnt available (sold on it), they offered me the 8 at first at original price but as I couldnt stretch any further, the 7 was more than my purse strings could cope with, they reduced the price to match the 7. having expressed doubt over the 8 being too much for my meagre loads, they assured me it would be ok, weighs the wash, works same as 7., so I bought it.
I am now told by Samsung and Miele that their models would handle the loads perfect, spin it, no lottery, they seemed to know of the situation. Shop mgr says we can solve it with an AEG or Miele or LG, wish he had been in the room the day I was there buying it, I might have fared better, clearly the staff are not informed by mgr of the Bosch problem, or Bosch dont tell him, probably the latter.
However he asks get the uplift number and we will take it back, and Bosch wont give one as they say its not faulty, but its not fit for my purpose as explained to the staff. Design failing, is a failing something I have to be lumbered with ? If something fails to perform different to what one is told, especially if others perform perfectly is that it, you are stuck with it ?
He will contact Bosch he says, but they surely will say not faulty no uplift, no reason for them to say otherwise, they didnt promise me it would cope with small loads, the shop did. The only leverage he has with them is not being told of this design failing.
Shop says the Miele WCD120 or the AEG L6FBK841N or LG F4J608WN would work, and my research and testing by a friend with same failure load with resounding success shows the Samsung WW70J5556MW/EU would work, also assured by Samsung themselves. Bosch by the way said all current models/makes would fail, not just Bosch.
Bosch no doubt will dig heels in, though should have told shop of this failing of current models, shop sold me their product that has this issue without knowing it, and know of models that wont fail, so where do I stand, what might the next move be ?

Hi, I watched it drain the rinse away, then toss the contents about, attempt a spin and stop, then more tossing, another attempt, and stop, 5 or so times, then it gave up, added a shirt in, same again, but on very last it seemed to see some hope, then continued a slow spin at first and then spun up and it found it had somehow got the distribution it wanted. It has been designed and over-engineered in a ‘fussy’ sort of way. Friend tried same load in a samsung and it did the spin first time. In WW2 germany over engineered engines such as DB601, and weapons, and they refused to work if anything was introduced such as dust or sand ! If it was built ‘solid’ it wouldnt have to fussa bout the load inside. older machines you can stick anything in, they just get on with it.
