Bryan,
Aha, the fire triangle!
I’ll take the piece of silver kitchen foil out then.I’m still a bit puzzled by the gap in the seal around the doorframe to the electric oven but will now stop worrying.
THANK YOU for all your help.

Bryan,
Sorry for the delay in replying to you.
Yes you are right that was the first time we have used it since cleaning it. When I checked the height of the flame and the spread of the burn to reply to your former question the smell of gas had gone.
Can you please confirm that the gap at the top of the door seals should be there as it seems odd to me although there are those chrome strips where the gaps are. Wouldn’t this let the heat out or is it to let some air in?

Bryan,
Thank you for such a quick and helpful reply.
Gas Oven
Model: 05052203
Serial No: 20460328
BER = My thoughts too.
When turning on as per instruction manual with knob pushed in and turned up to 9.
Flame goes high after about a minute.
There is a consistent flame across the burner even when turned down to lower settings.
The section of seal which appears to be missing along the top edge in front of a chrome strip is 33cm long.The section of door seal that appears to be missing along the top edge of the electric oven in front of a chrome strip is just under 7cm long.
