On a scale of ‘not a snowball’s hope in hell of me buying that’ to ‘the dog’s bollox’, where does ‘okay’ rate exactly ? 😉 What other manufacturers have this rating ?

More specifically, what do you think of :

Gas hob : P6401MX or P6801MX
Electric Oven : F651 D4X

Aha ! Thanks – now I see where the AA comes from. And why I shouldn’t bother with it.

So the next obvious question, how do I tell the quality of an appliance ? I know – having read here – that the manufacturer’s brand name doesn’t really tell me anything about who built it. Are there independent sites online that you believe give real-world credible reviews of these machines ?

Or is it just a matter of you get what you pay for ?

I wish buying a oven and hob was as easy as buying the components to build my own computer !

OK thanks – reasonable – but where do I get the ratings from ? For example, comparing a Fagor dishwasher (1VFE 65 IT – about 333 pounds) with a Whirlpool (ADG 6556 – about 350 pounds).

Guess what – no Sterling symbol 🙁
