Re: Miele T230C – condensation problem

Seamy wrote “Advise you to cut your losses, if you are not prepared to pay to have the appliance serviced properly then don’t buy these expensive machines.” What would a ‘service’ consist of? Seems to me, the original poster has carried out most of it in cleaning and checking. I don’t reckon a ‘service’ would check other than visual things, certainly not voltages, currents, airflows etc? Unless I’n wrong? Also, IMHO the post was good, detailed, and comprehensive. And not too long. Much better than ‘ I get a burning smell’, or ‘it won’t run, the fuse is ok’, or even worse, over brief answers like ‘get it serviced’…..and such. Info is king.

Cheers for that,, it was a little noisy, but now quietened down somewhat, so I shall wade into the beast this weekend and see. I have had this apart down to the bare shell before, just can’t remember if it has a seperate fan motor, as it was 2007 when I last delved deep. I can imagine a fan would eventually stress crack and fall apart, as long as parts are available, I’ll be happy to keep this old soldier. Ta for advice!

Re: Iceline FF47/36 FF Fridge freezer- not doing either!

Hi- since located what I think is the cut out, once fully defrosted, I pushed the button (hidden under the top front panel near t/stat knob) and off it went, cooling well in the freezer, but the fridge bit- o dear! just ambient temp again. Anyone got any ideas please? How is the refrigerant passed to the fridge, is it on a different circuit to the freezer, there are 2 pipes from out of the compressor, into the freezer, then I think up to the fridge. Is there some kind of valve in there somewhere? How can I check the defrost sensor, where is it and how to acces the inside cooling element in the fridge , as there are no internal access panels? Help a guy to cool his beers again- situation critical! Ta y’all!!

Re: A BEST BUY budget washer? Advice welcome plz!

Thanx so much for your quick replies, folks! I’ll check out the items mentioned before buying. Meanwhile, I found the Samsung J1253 with 7Kg load, 1200 spin, and 2 yr warranty for £229, plus 3 yr ext’d @ £50- from Comet. Seems favourite up to now, but it ain’t over yet, as they say. Anyone come across my problem with the Servis before? Recon main module fitted (seems to be a volt reg that went)- is there a prog unit on this, behind the front panel (as well as the display board)? Or what else can cause the probs I’m having? It tripped my RCB then was dead thereafter, fitted the MiniSel module, and can now get power, but all segments of progress indicator, and all push buttons lite up together, with no other action. Shame to bin it having gone so far, as it’s only 2 yr old, and mint in other respects, and would do for back up. Any thought people? Cheers everyone,,,,,Dave
