Removed the filter again and after shining a torch inside realised that there was gunk on the impellor – gently scraped it all off and it was flicking around no problem.

I also snaked the drain hose ..just in case .. nothing came out though.

Put it all back together and my washer dryer is now working perfectly – to be honest it now runs as quiet as when I first bought it.
