    Re: Hotpoint WD860 Flash, Bang & F07

    cheers thanks again for the info, I believe last time I priced up a pcb was about £150 and heaters proberbly a few quid also, I don’t own this machine but belongs to landlord so reckon will pass the cost on. thanks again. in case I do the job myself is the pcb plug and play or is there a chip to swop over (recken there was) if only £109 to replace all parts above recken might be worth it if the parts are that much, was I mistaken about any mobs reqd????

    Regards

    well I checked out the board and cannot see any damage. all the connections look ok, removed and refitted all the connectors. switched on machine and still giving fault code 3. before I go for a board are there any tests that can be done on the motor or do you recommend a new board?

    Oh so the module might be at fault. I was not sure about the 7 KOhms difference between the expected & Actual readings in the thermistor. thanks again martin. the engineer who told me the motor was at fault said he had replaced the circuit board which I asume to be that module but I will check all the connections. shall I do a continuity check on the thermistor and heater wires between the module & heater/thermistor terminals.
    How much would a module cost to try?

    could the motor really be at fault to cause this problem?

    will get back to you about the module in a tick
    thanks again martin

    hi there How do I go about testing the first two items please.

    With your multimeter you should have approx 25-30 ohms for the heater and 22 Kohms for the thermistor! 😉

    Hi there again. I have now tested my machine again and the readings are as follows:

    Heater = 31ohms

    Thermistor = 31 KOhms

    taking the above readings into account does this mean that I need a new thermistor. If so how much will one cost. and how quick for delivery to the channel islands.

    I would just like to be v/careful as my previous fault code was 8 flashes but now showing 3 flashes and the engineer who looked at it for me suspected the motor. please confirm readings as I would like to maybe try to fix the problem.
    any help gratefully appreciated 😀

    I here that these aristons are basically rebadged indersits. if so which indersit manual handbook do I need for my machine?

    Cheers mate 😆 thanks for the quick reply. I will try to test these again and check my figures on monday when I can get back into my workshops to get my multimeter. there were two items on the back of the drum which I tested the other day. both of which had a double terminal each but only one wire conected were these the heating elements then?

    To save confusion have you any pictures of the thermistor and heater. or a parts diagram. is a manual available in pdf for this machine as I have lost mine.
    cheers

    Re: Ariston Margherita ALD12 3 Flashes

    sorry this will sound like a stupid question but where is the thermistor located. I have not got my multimeter with me today but I did check two terminals at the back of the machine which looked like they could be the thermistors and they gave me a reading of about 34 ohms. also looked like main heater elements were in a metal duct on top of the machine. they also checked out I recon. there was a square unit on top that looked like a voltage transducer that did hace a loose terminal also not sure if it is used to supply the heatet elements. is there anything else I can check

    Re: Zannussi FJS1225W with Fault code E40

    just realized a mistake in my last post. The error code is E40 not E140. is this dianosis based on the E40 Fault or the E140.
    sorry for late reply been away for a while…

    I will try to pull the system apart to check out the relay. and the continuety of the wiring also.
    will let you know how I get on
