just noticed another post with a similar problem, broken wiring to the sensor in the unit connecting condensor to tub was the suggested cause.

took a look, found that both connections had been broken to the terminal.

    will fix and retest

    thanks Penguin45

checked cut out switch, it didn’t respond to being pressed in so looks like it hadn’t tripped.

took a loot at the condensor, the top part had popped right out of the housing! (must have happened whilst moving the machine around when fitting the drain pump) so there was no chance of any air flow at all. before popping it in I took it out and gave it a clean (wasnt too much build up though).

still no dryer heat. doesnt look like an airflow issue. when i touch the metal duct going from heater to drum (when unplugged of course) its stone cold.

am i going about resetting the cut out switch the right way? is there anything else i can check?

    your help is much appreciated.
