ParticipantGW601-U F&P washer with the same diagnostic codes
Hi there,
I am a relative newbie to fixing washing machines but willing to give it a go.
In summary, my GW601-U washing machine does not complete a cycle and beeps continuously with the ‘Short Wash’ light on. I have to turn it off and back on to make it stop. I have tried several times to restart from where it stopped but in vain. I have tried to skip the ‘Short Wash’ step but it gets stuck in the next light (ie, ‘Rinse’) and starts beeping all over again.
So, I went into the diagnostic mode and got the 00001011 code, reading the lights from left to right as described.
I rang the Aus F&P Customer Care but was told that it indicated that there was an “electronic problem” of some kind and that I ought to get a technician have a look at it at the rate of $110 (turn up fee) + parts + labour on top of that.
Given that it’s an old washing machine that I bought 2nd hand and that I would rather try to fix it myself than call out a technician, I started researching the issue and stumbled across your site.
I have read the recommendations posted previously but what I need to do next is what escapes me:
1. How can I make sure that the bowl is fully pumped out? Is there a specific set of steps I need to follow to make sure that the bowl is emptied? If yes, what are those steps?2. How can I remove the pressure tube? Do I need to dismantle/remove the front panel completely? Where can I have access to a technician’s manual to see how to dismantle/remove the front panel?
3. How can I make sure that the water is completely cleared if I blow through the tube?
I am sorry if the above sounds extremely fundamental for those of you who so graciously monitor this forum but I would thankfully appreciate any help you can provide.
Cheers,
Michael J
