Re: MFI APM 6221 only freezes when fast freeze button depres

Ha! Found the cause of the problem fitting the thermostat the freezer is in fact a Schreiber APP 6403! Now why did I trust the MFI documentation sent with the freezer which identified it as an APM 6221?????

Anway, mystery solved of why I can’t find anything that looks like the thermostat I’ve bought.

Back to my original question, can I get a thermostat for this freezer?

Also, I’ve found another posting on the Schreiber APP6403 which mentions problems with insulation being bad and states if you have this problem you’ll get black mould growing on the top of the freezer. I’ve got black mould on the top, could it be that water damage has knocked out my thermostat and the freezer is kaput?

I’ve now got the thermostat and having pulled the freezer out can’t work out where on earth the thermostat is located. Can anyone give me a clue about the general location of it?

Re: Water collecting in bottom of MFI Larder Fridge APP 6302

Thanks Dave. I’ve temporarily repaired the seal using some white duck tape but will be in touch to arrange a new door. I don’t think duck tape is going to work over the summer as a seal!

    Hi Dave,

Yes you were absolutely correct on the problem. I have used a bit of old wire to clean out a drain whole in the fridge and immediately the water problem has gone away.

Whilst cleaning the hole I noticed that the rubber seal on the fridge door has come away from the bottom of the door and that repairing it doesn’t look easy. The reason for this is that part of the fridge door which the rubber seal attaches too appears to be broken.

Does anyone know where I would get a complete replacement door from? And if so approximate costs.

    thanks

    James
