    Dave / K

Thanks for the pointer re the third thermistor – found it and have replaced it with the one that I removed from the base of the chassis.

All is put back together and is running without error.

Are you able to confirm that ythe two items are in fact the same part number and thus the same value?

    Regards

    Thanks dave & K

Its the control PCB that smells burnt out so I will get it off and hopefully the offending parts will be obviuos. Then its a trip to RS and a bit of soldering and maybe????

    Worth a try

PS If you haven’t already gathered – I’m from Yorkshire!!!!

    Re: Hotpoint 9345 Tumble Dryer

    Hi Dave

Sort of gathered that potential litigation might be behind the reluctance to supply too much detail. I fully understand and appologise if I appeared ungrateful – cos that certanly is not the case.

Conrol PCB from Hotpoint is 164.63 (plus VAT presumably) so new dryer seems to be on the cards unless I can find a source of second hand parts.

    Thanks for your help

    Re: Hotpoint 9345 Tumble Dryer

    Hi K
dave has not given me any further clues as to where the fourth item is and sniffing the PCB certainly indicates severe overheating if not the complete burn out of componenets (have not yet succeeded in removing the PCB so that I can see the component side).

    Post code RG26 Reading area.

    Re: Hotpoint 9345 Tumble Dryer

    Hi Dave

when you say heater suppot plate – where exactly is that?

There was one in the exhaust outlet and one on the very bottom of the machine enclosed in a plastic enclosure that held the device against the bottom plate of the chassis – just in front of the motoer and fan (when viewed from the rear.

I have now got the front plate off and would tend to agree that if it is not this other thermistor (if I can find it) then it is likely to be the PCB. Don’t know if they will supply that part though.
