    Finally got around to cleaning out the pressure chamber and transfer hose. As you said, both were full of gunk! After cleaning the overflow the leak problem was solved. However, a further problem then occurred during the initial initial cold water filling cycle: the float in the pressure chamber lifted and activated the pump, as the water level in the chamfer fell the water inlet valve opened creating a pressure surge which then caused the float to rise again and start the pump once again. This effect kept repeating and the machine was locked into an unstable condition. The problem was solved by backing-off the water inlet pressure slightly i.e. slight closure of the supply pipe isolating inlet valve.
    Can’t say I have seen this effect reported before, has it been seen on other dishwashers?

    Thanks iadom, I will have a go at cleaning the presssure chamber and the transfer hose.
