ParticipantHI Dave, sorry for the long delay in coming back to you but we went into dishwasher overload and needed time out!
I am happy to report the machine is now working. Everything was checked twice and all seemed perfect and correct. We then had issues with it going past the microswitch and then failing, then the spray arms not both working, then constant spraying etc. etc. It felt like it just needed to relearn everything again. Very bizarre but we have managed to get to an end of a program!
We are treating it very gingerly and only using it when we can monitor it and going to name it Herbie as it has a mind of it’s own!
Thank you Dave for all your help! It was very much appreciated and seriously could not have fixed it without your expert help and knowledge!

ParticipantHi Dave, sorry for delay in coming back.
Yes all in correct position. We had the dishwasher out on decking to check everything and there is no apparent reason why the switch is not a) kicking in when blue lever comes out or b) when the switch is bypassed why nothing else happens within the machine. Determined to get to the bottom of it though!
Could the Aquastop be faulty? If the red lever/stick is raised manually it does stop the aquastop and activates the drain pump.
Many thanks for all your advice, much appreciated!

ParticipantMany thanks for all your advice Dave, really appreciated!
We are stumped too… the switch has been tested but in the end we by passed it and the circulation motor did not kick in/activate (no movement inside the machine – we did test the motor with a multi-meter and it did function), nor did the water stop!

ParticipantSwitch did not get wet and have double checked this internally. Also good resistance from it, so all good.

ParticipantGotcha, will investigate the switch! Thank you Dave

ParticipantYes, does lift up and down and yes have checked the hose at the front. Have also checked the sump previously. The one thing that was detected when it was all dismantled preivously is that the contacts were damp to the motor that actuates the spray arms. Could this be the culprit?
Really do appreciate your time and help Dave! If you ever need advice on furniture restoration let us know!

ParticipantHi Dave, yes programme set, hear drain pumping old water out and then stops; you then hear the machine filling and then eventually you hear the pump draining a little and then sound of water again and then pump a little, then water again etc. etc. This will continue until the machine is reset and then the pump kicks in and empties it and signals the end. There is no washing cycle from filling onwards if you know what I mean.
You end up hearing a rythm of pump and water, bit like an old train trying to speed up but there isn’t enough coal!
The water fills to capacity and so eventually the red float rises and pump chucks a bit out and then water fills the small gap again etc.

ParticipantHI Dave, thank you for all your help, really appreciate it! Sorry for the long delay each time but trying to be thorough in carrying out your instructions!
So, switch is operating with a meter and have checked all wires from it back to the board and they have continuity.
So the dishwasher fills and empties at beginning of cycle as described before and then when we open it to stop it and reset it, and then close it, the pump comes on to remove all the water in the machine and then beeps to say it is finished.

ParticipantHello Dave, have checked all is clean and correctly connected. Checked the round with a meter and all good. Turned the machine on and watched it fill up… the blue arm thing moved outwards but did not stop the incoming water and so did not follow on to next procedure.
The red float was originally full of lime scale and gunk, as was the matrix, but all cleaned and freely moving. After the blue arm not moving above we activated the red float.

ParticipantHi Dave, Many thanks for reply!
The dishwasher is filling for eternity, then stops …drains a tiny bit…tops up ….drains a tiny bit ….tops up etc. It seems like it is full to capacity and then realises it’s going to flood and then decides to empty a little, so on
