some good news.. just watched the current cycle ( program 8 ) and that goes to a rince which uses the normal wash fill solenoid valve. so the machine does rince fine, just softner will not fill (which doesn’t matter to us).

On other cycles the rince / softner is combined so they might not work.. but 8 is fine for now.

On the washer dryers there is a 3 way valve on the cold, supplying the normal detergent compartment for wash and initial rinse cycles; the fabric conditioner compartment for final rinses; and the condensing vessel for tumble drying. With the fabric conditioner rinse solenoid disconnected the machine will stick at the start of the final rinse. It may also display an error sequence once it has detected a problem. I don’t have one of these boards to check but it may be a type of solid state switch, similar to a triac that controls the valve, rather than a relay. These are small surface mount components.

Thanks yes i do mean the solenoid valves on the cold feed inlet… I didn’t think about the rinse cycle! my wife has already started the washer… oh well.

The machine doesn’t actually stick as i’ve tested it on a short cycle, it just carries on as if nothing is missing.

I’ll look at the board once my wife has this load finished.
