Re: Replacing NTC Thermistor on Indesit WIDL126

    Thanks for your reply Clive.
I have measured the resistance between the terminals on the thermistor in the machine and it is 24.4 K.ohm.
On the new one the resistance is 18.6 k.ohm.
So does this mean that the thermistor is ok or not?
If so what should I try next.
    Thanks again
    Jim

Thanks for the very rapid reply to my post Martin.
I am sorry to be so stupid but is the heater compression plate the metal strip which is approximately 7cm x 2cm and has a nut in the centre?
Perhaps I am thinking too much but I am expecting two thin wires to go to the thermistor but I can only see two thick wires going to this plate which I think are the connections to the heater.
Above the metal strip is a circular device about 4cm diameter which has a rubber surround to it and also two thin wires connected to it. If this is the compression plate does it pull out or screw out and does the rubber have to be pushed to one side.
    Thanks again in anticipation
    Jim
