Thanks Dave, just found that it’s called a ProSmart inverter which is brushless apparently. Think it might be a bit too technical for me in that case

Thanks Dave, yes I removed the belt and both the motor and drum turn freely. However as soon as I plug the red wire back in, it resists again (unplugged and no power to machine). Any ideas?
